In this chapter, you have learned about sentence structure, or syntax—specifically, about cumulative, periodic, and inverted sentences. Write a paragraph that includes at least one example of each type. Also include a simple sentence and one that uses either coordination or subordination. Then, rewrite your cumulative sentence as periodic, your periodic as cumulative, and your inverted sentence in normal word order (SVO). Carefully consider the rhetorical effects of each pattern.
