Labeling

Labeling can help you understand at a glance how and where you will use your evidence. For example, you might label notes or sources containing the evidence you want to use in your introduction with “Introduction,” those that you plan to use to define a concept with the name of that concept, and so on. Digital notes and sources can be labeled by changing a file name or editing the document text. Print notes and sources can be labeled with pen or pencil or with sticky notes.

Once you’ve labeled your notes and sources, you can organize them into groups and put them in order.
