Revising involves rethinking and re-envisioning what you’ve written. It focuses on such big-picture issues as whether the document you’ve drafted is appropriate for your writing situation; whether your thesis statement is sound and well supported; whether you’ve properly integrated sources into your document; whether you’ve organized and presented your information, ideas, and arguments clearly and effectively; and whether you’ve made appropriate decisions about genre and design.
