Section 12.2 Summary

  1. Once an ANOVA result has been found, significant multiple comparisons procedures are performed to determine which pairs of population means are significantly different. The Bonferroni method uses the Bonferroni adjustment, which multiplies the -value of each pairwise hypothesis test by the number of comparisons being made.
  2. Tukey's test may be performed using the critical-value method, where the test statistic is compared to the critical value for each hypothesis test.
  3. Tukey's test may also be performed using confidence intervals and technology.
