The Dangers of Depressant Drugs Cory Monteith, the popular “singing jock” on the hit television show Glee, had battled drug addiction off and on since his teens. A few months after he was released from rehab, he was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room, having overdosed on a potent mixture of heroin and alcohol. Also found in his system were morphine and codeine—making for a deadly combination of depressant drugs. The talented star was just 31.
