What Is Beautiful Is Good We are culturally conditioned to associate beauty with goodness and evil with ugliness—an implicit personality theory that has been dubbed the “what is beautiful is good” myth (Sheppard & others, 2011). For example, in this scene from the Disney film Enchanted, the sweet, innocent princess is beautifully dressed and perfectly groomed, but the wicked stepmother is disguised as an old woman, complete with a wart on her chin.
