In the effort to ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, institutions have established offices, centers, and resources to provide students with educational opportunities, academic guidance, and support networks. Look into the availability of the following resources on your campus, and visit one or more: Office of Student Affairs; Office of Diversity; Multicultural Centers; Women’s and Men’s Centers; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Student Alliances; Centers for Students with Disabilities; and academic support programs for under-represented groups.

  • Diversity Resources The Diversity Web (http://www.diversityweb.org) lists resources related to diversity on campus.
  • The Tolerance.org Web site (http://www.tolerance.org), a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, provides numerous resources for dealing with discrimination and prejudice both on and off campus.
