Activity Objective:
In this chapter, you read about developing strong thinking skills. The ability to think through problems and draw rational conclusions is valuable in life and in the workplace. Employers like to know not only what you think but also how you think; that means that in a job interview, they will likely ask how you have solved problems in the past. Complete this activity to demonstrate your use and understanding of the critical-thinking process.

Take the following steps:
EXAMPLE: I remember a situation when I faced a problem. I was working at a restaurant, and the employee who was supposed to submit a restocking order neglected to do so. Unfortunately, the manager scheduled for that day also did not show up for his shift. To solve this problem, I had to ask questions of the other employees. Together we had to figure out which menu items were customer favorites, list them, brief the team on what items would be available, and resubmit an urgent order.
When you have filled in all of the blanks, the “Submit” button will appear. When you are satisfied with all of your responses, select the “Submit” button to send your responses to your instructor. (Note: You will not be able to change your responses after you select “Submit.”)
Your Answer
Now, explain in more detail how you solved this problem. Which critical-thinking skills did you use, and how will you explain these skills to an interviewer? Offering a clear explanation of how you used these skills is a great way to show employers how you reach conclusions. Respond to two of the prompts below that apply to your specific situation.
When you have filled in the blanks in two or more sentences, the "Submit" button will appear. When you are satisfied with all of your responses, select the “Submit” button to send your responses to your instructor. (Note: You will not be able to change your responses after you select “Submit.”)
