Pedestal rock. This large rock balances on a narrow pedestal in the Sahara in remote eastern Libya. The cap rock is more resistant to weathering and erosion than the rock forming the pedestal beneath it. As abrasion continues to thin the pedestal, the rock will eventually come crashing down.
