June solstice day length. On the June solstice, the situation is reversed relative to the December solstice. As you travel north, daylight increases until you reach the Arctic Circle at 66.5° north. Locations within the Arctic Circle do not cross the circle of illumination into the night side of the globe, and as a result, day length is 24 hours. Traveling southward, day length decreases. Anywhere within the Antarctic Circle, 66.5° south, the night is 24 hours long.
