Radiation fog in this region often results in car accidents on freeways due to poor visibility. (B) This radiation fog developed in Alhandra, Portugal, along the Tagus River valley. Alhandra’s central church protrudes above the fog. The photo was taken at 8:00 a.m. before the warm sunlight began evaporating the fog.
