Replicating the Milgram Study

In order to replicate Milgram’s findings, researchers created a study similar to the original obedience study. As in Milgram’s study, male and female participants were misled to believe they were randomly selected to serve as a teacher and administer shocks to the learner, who was a confederate in the study. Nine out of the 12 participants went all the way to the end, shocking the learner at 450 volts. These results support Milgram’s original study, where the majority also went to this extreme level of shock.
