Advice about revising can sound abstract, but the process is a real one you engage in regularly — or should. In a discussion with your classmates (or in a paragraph or two), describe your habits of revision. Explore questions such as the following:
Do you revise as you write, or do you prefer to wait until you have a full draft?
How willing are you to make big changes in a draft?
Have you ever been embarrassed or hurt by what seemed like minor errors?
Do you know your specific areas of weakness, and how do you address them?
Do you allow yourself enough time to give your projects a close second look? Should you?
Have you ever had a surprising success with a paper you wrote at the last minute and turned in almost unrevised?
