Deficiency symptoms reveal inadequate nutrition

When a plant is deficient in an essential element, it displays characteristic deficiency symptoms. Table 35.1 and Figure 35.1 describe some of the symptoms that help growers diagnose mineral nutrient deficiencies in plants. With proper diagnosis, the missing nutrient(s) can be provided in the form of a fertilizer (an added source of mineral nutrients).
