You are studying a protein that functions as an enzyme (shown below, with catalytic region in blue). The normal enzyme has a robust reaction rate (see graph) that increases rapidly with increasing substrate concentration. Introduce mutations into the gene that codes for this protein and determine how they affect the resulting enzyme's reaction rate.

  1. Identify the location of the gene mutation by clicking and dragging the red dot to a position along the resulting protein.
  2. Select the type of mutation you've introduced.
  3. Plot your results.
