Title for Slide

If the GFR falls, one way the kidney returns the GFR to normal is to initiate a cascade of events that produces the hormone angiotensin. Angiotensin constricts peripheral blood vessels throughout the body. In the kidney, angiotensin preferentially constricts the efferent arterioles, which increases the pressure in the glomerular capillaries and increases the GFR.
