Male Interviewer: Anusha, you've heard the word seminal, and you've heard the word game changer. I mean, how big is this film for the entire global film industry?

Anusha Ondaatjie: It is extremely unusual to have a largely black cast, in leading roles, in such a big budget movie, and such a prominent movie for Hollywood. And with the global release, it will be out in China on March the 9th.

And critics have praised it. It's 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, if you look at the top critic reviews. So all that is great for it. And it is definitely, in the US, at least. for the African-American community, and other minorities, it is more than just another superhero movie.

I was out in Hollywood last night, where there were preview shows, talking to people. And people have flown into LA, and other cities, to see this film with their families. It's much more than just a movie. It's a celebration of African culture, of black heritage. And so yes, so that's where the real power of potentially for this film is going to come from, to take it really on to another level of box office earning.

Female Interviewer: Yeah. And so it's phenomenally culturally, and politically relevant and important, particularly coming on the heels of "Get Out," which, as we know is nominated for the Oscar for Best movie. But it also has to tick the superhero box, right Anusha? How will Disney have done when it comes to the superhero story of it all?

Anusha Ondaatjie: Well you know, Disney's been, and proved itself, the best in Hollywood at establishing characters, new characters, diversifying the characters it has to put in front of an audience, and I don't expect them to do any differently this time. In fact, they're just bringing in a even more diverse audience that would probably not go see a superhero movie, specifically because they want to see the Black Panther, and everything he means for American culture.
