West, born in Atlanta in 1977, is an American rapper, producer, and singer-songwriter who has received many awards and won critical acclaim for his work, often introducing controversy along the way. Born in Trinidad in 1982, Minaj began her career with mixtapes and guest appearances on other artists’ songs before releasing her debut album, Pink Friday. Several more albums and guest appearances followed.
