FIGURE 4.28 Managers have used mechanical removal to control invasive saltcedar in many protected areas. Some beetles that primarily feed on saltcedar, in its native range, have been imported and released in western North America to help control the invasive species. Thousands of hectares of native cottonwood and willow forest have been restored following saltcedar control.
