Graphing Tutorial: Area Graphs Walkthrough

Area graphs are used for showing trends over time among related attributes. For example, the amount of cars sold changing within 5 years, among popular car brands. Each line on the graph represents a series of data changing over equally spaced time intervals. The area between the first plotted line and the x-axis is filled with color. Each next series of data is stacked above the previous data and the area between the current line and the previous line is filled with a different color.
