47.4 Ecological Communities

We have been discussing how species interact and how these interactions can shape the distributions of populations, limiting distributions in one way or another. Now we look collectively at all the species that occur together in the same place. How, and to what extent, do they interact? And what are the properties of these interacting sets of species?
