OUTLINING STAGE

OUTLINING STAGE

With a workable thesis and a few key ideas, move to outlining. Jot down a quick bullet-point outline of what you plan to cover. Many students do this on a piece of scrap paper and keep it beside them as they write to help them stay on track. Your outline won’t be fancy or perfect, but it should give you enough structure to feel confident enough to start drafting. For more on outlining, see Chapter 13, Essay Organization and Outlining, page 000 in your book.
