-I'm stuffed. That was great, Anita.

-Thanks. It's my mom's recipe.

-Now I get why you're excited to go home after graduation.

-Wait. Didn't you have a preliminary interview for a marketing position in California?

-I did, but I decided not to pursue it. My sister just had a baby, and I am dying to see her. They're living with my folks, so if I'm home I can help. I think I'm just going to see what kind of job opportunities come up at home.

-So, law school next, right?

-Actually, that's changed too.

-What? You wanted to be a lawyer forever.

-I still do. But my uncle hasn't been doing so well recently. He really pushed himself for his construction business, and had a heart attack about a month ago. It really changed a lot for my entire family. It would give him peace of mind to know that I'm handling the day-to-day affairs. He always wanted me to take the company over anyway.

-I get it, guys. If my family or the extended community group I grew up in needed me, I'd change plans in a heart beat. Nothing like that on my plate though. I'm still going to grad school in the fall, and I'm terrified of being lonely. The idea of having to start over, not having a group of friends. You'll always have us, no matter where you go. And besides, there's no reason to dwell on the unknown right now when Ben made peanut butter cookies.

-Because we haven't eaten enough already today.
