Domestic Terrorism The most devastating product of antigovernment extremism was the explosion of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in April 1995. The building housed a day care center, and 19 infants and toddlers were among the 168 people killed. The driver of the truck carrying the explosives was executed in 2001, and his co-conspirator was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
