INFORMATION LITERACY EVALUATING INFORMATION

For over 100 years, up until the 1960s, wolves were extirpated in most of the United States. Over the past few decades, studies have indicated that wolves may have been more important to the functioning of an ecosystem than humans realized. Many groups have worked to reintroduce wolves in states such as Colorado, Montana, Idaho, North Carolina, Washington, and New Mexico. These groups sometimes encounter fierce resistance from other groups concerned with human safety and with possible financial impacts of wolves preying on livestock.
