FIGURE 10.3The Kinsey Sexuality Rating ScaleWhen interviewing people for a study on human sexuality, Alfred Kinsey and his colleagues (1948) discovered that people were not always exclusively heterosexual or homosexual. Instead, some described thoughts and behaviors that put them somewhere in between. This finding led the Kinsey team to develop the scale here, which shows a range associated with sexual orientation.
