The Split-Brain Experiment
The image to the left shows a top view of the corpus callosum, the bundle of neurons linking the right and left hemispheres. When the corpus callosum is severed, we can see clear functional differences between the two sides of the brain. Studies of people who have undergone this procedure are known as “split-brain” experiments. An example of this type of experiment is shown below.
