Chapter 1: Speech Choices Suggested Activities

1. Have students prepare and present their own three-minute “introductory-biographical” speech.

2. Have students pick a favorite celebrity or someone they admire and write 3-5 bullet points that this person would use in an introductory-biographical speech.

3. Have students work in small groups and come up with 3-5 tips they would offer to someone who is unexpectedly asked to give an impromptu introductory speech on his or her first day of a new job.
