Chapter 13: Speech Choices Suggested Activities

1. Have students form groups of five to six people, and ask them to practice panning and making eye contact by reciting something they know well (such as the Pledge of Allegiance or the alphabet) in front of the group.

2. Have students get into pairs and take turns practicing gestures while reading a short speech.

3. Give students a short speech to read to their groups of three to four people, and ask them to focus on their vocal delivery skills and to provide feedback to each speaker.
