Form small groups according to major for this project on descriptions on the web. Search the web for a description of an item used in your field. In a 500-word memo to your instructor, respond to the following questions:

Does the description contain definitions? If so, what kind? How clear are they? How would you revise them?

What is the purpose of the description, and how does that purpose determine its nature, scope, and organization?

In what ways has the author used the hypertext medium in this description? In other words, how is this version of the description different from one that would appear as a traditional printed document?

How effective is the description? Which aspects are well done? Which aspects would you do differently?
