Chapter 21, Additional Exercise 3: Delivering an Impromptu Presentation

In groups of three or four, spend two or three minutes planning and organizing an impromptu presentation of no more than five minutes on a key word or concept from your major. Give the presentation to the other members of the group, explaining to them the key word or concept. If you wish, use a chalkboard, whiteboard, or flip chart to create hand-drawn graphics during your presentation. Afterward, ask for comments and suggestions. For example, you might ask members of the group if your explanation was clear and easy to understand, what part of the presentation they remember best and why, and whether you exhibited any distracting verbal or physical mannerisms.
