As with any college assignment, you will want to make sure you consider time and technical constraints. Many online projects take much more time than a traditional writing assignment: one student, for example, told us that she spent ninety hours creating a three-minute animated video. So you need to plan carefully to make sure you have both the access to any tools you will need and the time to carry out the project (and to learn about the tools, if necessary).

As with any writing project, you will want to think about rhetorical concerns, such as your purpose for creating the text, the needs of your audience, and the main point or message you want to get across.
