Explain

  • For a book that combines text and illustrations, begin your citation with the person you wish to emphasize (writer, illustrator, artist). List any other contributors after the title of the book.

  • Use the abbreviation “illus.” and other common labels to identify contributors.

  • If the writer and illustrator are the same person, cite the work as you would a book, with no labels (as in the third example).
