Explain

  • If an online posting is not maintained in an archive, cite it as a personal communication in the text of your paper and do not include it in the list of references.

  • If the posting can be retrieved from an archive, give the URL and the name of the discussion list if it is not part of the URL.

Note on breaking URLs and DOIs

  • If you must break a URL or a DOI at the end of a line, break it after a double slash or before any other mark of punctuation.

  • Do not add a hyphen.

  • Do not put a period at the end of the entry.
