Article (or periodical) databases

Your library has access to databases that can lead you to articles in newspapers, magazines, and scholarly or technical journals. Some databases cover several subjects; others cover one subject in depth.

Many databases include the full text of at least some articles; others list only citations or citations with short summaries called abstracts. When full text is not available, the citation will give you enough information to track down an article.

When you find an article in a database, you are expected to cite the database when you document sources. For more information, see MLA, APA, and CMS citation examples.
