APA or Chicago system for citation in business writing

Business students typically use the style guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA) or The Chicago Manual of Style for formatting a paper, for citing sources in the text of a paper, and for listing sources at the end. In business courses, instructors usually indicate which style they prefer.

The APA system is set forth in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th ed. (Washington: APA, 2010). Chicago style is found in The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th ed. (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2010).
