Explain

  • Generally, list the organization responsible for the press release.
  • Give the exact date.
  • Neither italicize the title nor put it in quotation marks.
  • Add “Press release” in brackets following the title.
  • For a print source, end with the city, state, and publisher (giving “Author” as the publisher if the entry begins with the organization name).
  • For a source found on the Web, end with the URL.

Note on breaking URLs and DOIs

  • If you must break a URL or a DOI at the end of a line, break it after a double slash or before any other mark of punctuation.
  • Do not add a hyphen.
  • Do not put a period at the end of the entry.
