Explain

  • For a newspaper article with no author, begin the note with the title of the article. Begin the bibliography with the title of the newspaper. Follow with publication information as for a newspaper article.
  • For an unsigned article in a journal or a magazine, begin both the note and the bibliography entry with the title of the article. Follow with publication information as for a journal article or a magazine article.

Note on breaking URLs and DOIs

  • If you must break a URL or a DOI at the end of a line, break it after a colon or a double slash or before any other mark of punctuation.
  • Do not add a hyphen.
  • Do not put a period at the end of the entry.
