Section 6.5Summary

1. Section 6.5 showed how to solve normal probability problems for any conceivable normal random variable by first standardizing $X$ into $Z$ and then using the methods of Section 6.4. Methods for finding probabilities for a given value of the normal random variable $X$ were discussed.
2. For any normal probability distribution, values of $X$ can be found for given probabilities using the formula $X_1=Z_{\sigma }+\mu$.
3. Normal probability plots are used to assess the normality of a data set.
