Solution We begin by writing \(\dfrac{1}{2}\) as \(2^{-1}\). Then \[ g( x) =\left( \dfrac{1}{2}\!\right) ^{\!\!\!x}=( 2^{-1}) ^{x}=2^{-x} \]
