Explain

Give as much of the following information as is available:

  • Begin as you would for any book or book-length work, giving whatever publication information is available in the source.
  • Add the title of the database, italicized.
  • Give a DOI or permalink, if available; otherwise, use a URL for article or for database home page.
  • If the publication information for the book does not include a date, give the date of posting before the URL.

NOTE: If the database does not provide a DOI or a permalink, but it has a URL that is long and complicated, your instructor may allow you to use the URL for the database home page. Check with your instructor.

NOTE: When a URL must be divided at the end of a line, break it before a period or a hyphen or after any other mark of punctuation. Do not insert a hyphen at the end of the line.
