Explain

Some articles on the Web contain supplemental materials that are not part of the main article but that provide supporting data or other information related to the article.

  • Cite such material as you would an article in a journal or magazine on the Web.
  • Add the label “Supplemental material” in brackets following the title.

Note on breaking URLs and DOIs

  • If you must break a URL or a DOI at the end of a line, break it after a double slash or before any other mark of punctuation.
  • Do not add a hyphen.
  • Do not put a period at the end of the entry.
